As the banks continue to decimate our hard-earned savings, expensive holidays may seem like a distant dream. But renting or swapping your holiday home is far cheaper as we survive in these skinflint times.
A friend loves skiing but, with her husband and two children in tow, a week away has previously cost them a couple of thousand pounds. This year they have chosen to rent a holiday home, organising flights and ski passes themselves – which means that their half term fun costs a few hundred pounds instead. It just goes to show that if you shop – or swap – clever then you don’t need to miss out.
