On a recent trip to Wiltshire, we decided to visit Longleat Safari Park and it was the first time I’d been so incredibly close to some of the world’s most amazing animals.

It was fantastic.  The muscles on the rhinos were awesome.  Lions and tigers lazed around with their cute little cubs.  Llamas, camels and deer were coming right up to our car window, searching for food.  Unfortunately, the monkey jungle was closed which was a shame as we were really looking forward to seeing these mischievous creatures.  There was so much more to see than we expected: flamingos, pelicans, all different kinds and colours.  Vultures were flying around in an aviary which we felt was a shame – should they be in the park if they needed to be closed in?  All the other animals were running free but, of course, had to be separated by big electronic gates.

All in all, it was a great family day out and a chance to see some really amazing animals up close.
