My soujourn in Bordeaux, France
The city of Bordeaux in the South West of France offers a great deal to see, with all its museums, statues and the Dordogne River which goes through the heart of the city.
On the outskirts of Bordeaux there is a town called Bourg which is surrounded by an old castle fort. The village overlooks the Dordogne River which is on its way to the Atlantic Ocean. In this area of Bordeaux there are lots of wine-making chateaux that you can visit. The miles upon miles of vineyards make it a very relaxing area; in contrast with the bustling centre of Bordeaux which is about 40 minutes drive away.
The closest beach is 2 hours away but worth the trip - because then you’ve got 22 miles of it to play with! You’ve also got to go up the 200 ft sand dune: it takes around 30 minutes to walk to the top but the sea and forest views from there are amazing and well worth the effort.
